From 7 to 16 August the first two batches of Seatrade and Triton Senior Officers underwent the new Human Element Leadership and Management training. The course was developed by Oxford Aviation Academy, a renowned institute with extensive experience in human element training in the Aviation, Maritime and Healthcare Industry. The course was conducted at the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo.
The course is focussed around safety and a better understanding of human element in crisis situation. It is to enhance leadership in crisis situations. During the intensive five day course numerous incidents in the the Maritime and Aviation industry are analyzed and learned from. Because of the case study rich set up the course is very practical and easlily linked to day to day work situations.
The course is continuation on the Management Ledership Development Program (MLDP) which was rolled out throughout the Company from 2010. While the MLDP was more centered around providing senior Officers with the necessary Management and Leadership skills for their day to day running of the ship, the MCRM course is focussed on applying those skills in the avoidance and managing of emergency situations. The MCRM course is accredited by the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) of the UK and DNV and covers the following topics:

Participanst received the certificate 'HUMAN ELEMENT LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT AT THE MANAGEMENT LEVEL' approved by MCA and the 'MARITIME CREW RESOURCE MANAGEMENT' certificate accredited by DNV.
