  • MPC Officer Seminar

    DATE PUBLISHED 20-10-13

Oct 28-30 AVIOR organized an Officer seminar for MPC Officers at the Microtel Mall of Asia. From MPC side the 3-day seminar was attended by Fleet Personnel Manager Sandra Kaluza and Fleet Managing Director Nick Topham.

In informal setting the Officers were briefed and updated on developments in MPC and AVIOR, fuel efficiency, H&M Insurance, STCW-2010, MLC 2006 and received Media training by MTI.

In the media training Officers were trained how to deal with the media in case of incidents and briefed on how to repsonsibly deal with Social Media. The highlight of the training were the exercises in which participants were subjected to an ambush interview with real reporters and camera's present and the unexpected phone call to the bridge by reporters seeking information on an incident. After some briefing and training all cleared those exercises albeit with a bit of sweat and stress.

The impact of the social media and the impact on the image of the Company in the public domain were also explained using some bad and some good examples.

The seminar was concluded with a teambuilding day on the Island of Corregador.
